Learn about your teeth
After taking your snap, the Machine Learning model processes the image and analyzes the dental health indicators. It identifies areas of plaque accumulation and provides a cleanliness score based on the amount. This data is then used to generate personalized suggestions on brushing techniques and areas that require more attention.
Plaque is a soft, sticky film that builds up on your teeth and contains millions of bacteria. The bacteria in plaque cause tooth decay and gum disease if they are not removed regularly through brushing and flossing.
Future development of ToothSnap will include expanding its machine learning model for more accurate results and more supported brush patterns. Additionaly allowi9ng users to see the history of their previous scores would be a helpfull feature to implement.
Future research will focus on user experience testing to asses the application's usability for both parents and children. Following this ideally I would conduct some real world trials in dental practices. The idea of the test will be starting with baseline measurements of participants' oral hygiene, followed by a period of using the application to improve dental practices. Post-trial assessments will then gauge the application's impact on oral health outcomes.
